Prior to becoming an attorney, Carlo managed large-scale data operations for prominent digital media companies such as AT&T and FandangoNow. His extensive technology background enables him to better address the needs of technology companies embroiled in complex litigation both domestically and internationally, and he has assisted numerous commercial clients in a variety of industries with their issues involving contracts, real estate and other matters.

In addition, Carlo has gained notable experience handling civil rights and criminal-immigration claims before district, circuit and appellate courts, as well as various immigration agencies. A highly successful litigator, Carlo is equally effective outside of the courtroom. He has assisted with numerous negotiations to help his clients reach favorable settlements in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

A 1993 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Carlo completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour in Pau, France, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then taught English composition for several years before returning to the United States. Carlo attended Southwestern Law School and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2016.

Fluent in French and English, Carlo has published legal articles in both languages, and he maintains active involvement in his legal community. He also volunteers his time and services with nonprofit organizations such as the National Labor Guild and SBCC Thrive L.A., where he appears regularly in community Know Your Rights presentations and broadcasts.
